Our Monthly Meetings
January 2023
Our Annual Christmas celebration was held at The Kilted Shepherd. We were treated to three excellent bottles. Our evening started with a wonderful buffet that was enjoyed by all. Each year it seems an impossible task to equal or surpass the quality of the whiskey we hav enjoyed in previous years but once again we rang in the new year with truely amazing bottles. We enjoyed a Knocando 25 year, a Benriach 25 year and hand filled 1993 Glendronac that was filled by John And Erin at the Glendronic Distillery in Scotland.
January 2019
Our January meeting was held on January 18th. It was our Christmas Gala which included amazing whiskey and a Chinese BBQ pig supplied by Mr Vu. We were treated to our Christmas bottle an incredible bottle of Balvenie 30 year. We also enjoyed a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue and a bonus bottle of Balvenie Doublewood 12 year.
February 2019
Our February meeting was held at "The Roosevelt". We were treated to two excellent 21 year old's. Our evening started with a bottle of Glendronach Parlement 21 year old. The nose filled the room with an amazing aroma of raisins and sherry finished scotch. The flavor of the whisky was equally amazing, this was the club's first experience with Glendronach and it was a good one. Our second bottle was an amazing Irish from Redbreast, the Irish Whisky fans in the club were well pleased.
December 2018
Our December meeting was held on December 21st at The Kilted Shepherd. Christmas came early at The Kilted Shepherd as "Saint" Richard provided the club a bottle of Glengoyne 30 year. Enjoying a dram of such a fine libation with our friends started our Christmas season with much joy. The Glengoyne 30 received our highest SMS rating so far a rating of 99. Our club bottle was a lovely bottle of Glenmorangie Signet.
November 2018
Our November meeting was held on November 23rd at The Kilted Shepherd. Mr Hackett selected a bottle of Balvenie Peat Week for our club bottle. The peat fans in our club were well satisfied. For our officer bottle we enjoyed a rich single malt from Sweden, a bottle of Tyco's Star. Thank you Madame President for acquiring the lovely bottle from Sweden.
October 2018
A huge SMS thank you to the Conway's for hosting an incredible event. For our October whisky selections we were transported to Norway for our first taste of Norwegian whiskys . Our first bottle was a GJOLEID PRAKSIS 1.2 from ARCUS distillery. Our second bottle was a Pineau des Charentes finnished whisky from DET NORSKE BRENNERI distillers a EIKTYRNE RIN OG RENNANDE.
September 2018
Our September meeting was held at The Kilted Shepherd. Our host John, provided amazing smoked ribs and chicken. Our 1st bottle was a wonderful lightly peated single malt from Japan, The Hakushu 12 year. Our officer bottle was a spicy selection from Scotland. a lovely Glenmorangie Astar. The food and whiskey pairing madw for an unforgettable evening.
August 2018
Our August meeting was held at The Kilted Shepard. We enjoyed BRUICHLADDICH "The Classic Laddie" followed by 291's Barrel Proof Rye. For a special surprise out club President and her husband treated us to a bottle of MACALLAN number 4. Club members and guests retired to the porch for cigars and great conversation.
July 2018

Our July meeting was hosted by Jason at his home in Newton, NJ. We enjoyed a wonderful wheated bourbon, a 12 year from W L Weller. We also enjoyed a spicey Springbank Cask Strength also aged for 12 years. SMS thanks Jason for the hopsitality and a grest time!
June 2018
Our June meeting was held in Vernon NJ. For our club bottle John III selected BALVENIE 21 year Portwood. The officer bottle was a VIRGINIA HighlandMalt Whiskey. We enjoyed a beautiful Spring evening. John III made smoked chicken with a whiskey BBQ sauce. We retired to cigars around a camp fire.
May 2018
Our May meeting was held at "The Roosevelt" in Andover, NJ. For our officer bottle Tonn selected our club's first whiskey from India. This was a spicy whiskey from Paul John distillery. Our officer bottle was also a spicy selection, a GLENGOYNE Cask Strength with an ABV of 59.8. The theme of this meeting was spice and more spice.
April 2018
For our April meeting we were treated to two amazing club bottle selections. Richard treated us (at his cost) to a GLENGOYNE 25 year old and a YAMAZAKI 18 year old. For his generosity to the club Richard has a new nickname "The Saint". The officer bottle was a selection from JAMES OLIVER distillery.
March 2018
Our March 2018 meeting was held in Morristown, NJ. We installed our new SMS President and enjoyed the Whiskey Guild event. (see Events below)
February 2018
At our February meeting we enjoyed two selections from Scotland. A LEDAIG 10 year old and a MACALLAN Edition number 1. There was much excitement as we planned our attendance at The Whiskey Guild event in Morristown, NJ.
